THE LEGACY OF THE KINO EYE

After reading about the Kinoks and gaining a deeper understanding of what the kino-eye...I think I get what they were trying to accomplish which is to call forth a true cinematic revolution with the camera eye (kino eye) being the harbinger of truth-because the human eye does indeed have its limitations. On many levels they wanted to document the truths of the world and felt that staged productions were merely lies that humanity tells itself to feel "ok" with the world.

The rejection of traditional cinema by way of forcing the camera lens to become the new third eye was controversial, mainly because humans tend to put themselves at the center of everything and if not "man" than a man-made "God" and now you have a machine if you will that was created by "man" being proclaimed as the third-quid or shall I say the missing link between "man" and "god" so from a philosophical standpoint the Kinoks were placing the "machine" before all else. And, now we have an untold amount of  drones equipped with kino eyes documenting our every thought and action on a daily basis, and that's scary. Are Drones the legacy of the Kinoks? In a true communistic sense they very well could be.  Maybe I'm giving it to much thought, but then again maybe I've given it just the right amount of thought.

If the kino eye was meant to explore humanity in the raw and document our actions and reactions than drones are in deep sadly the legacy that the Kinoks have left behind rather they ever envisioned the lens to be used outside of film or not. The all seeing eye is no longer "God" but "man" who uses the "machine" as its weapon....I've seen enough Terminator films to know how well that turns out once the machine opens up its kino-eye and becomes self-aware!

I also think that the Kinoks would hate Fox News and how they use the documentary film style to manipulate the public on a daily basis.
