Project 3 - Trivial Repartee!

The pre text to this piece is that no clip in it is chosen arbitrarily, and though it might seem that we  are expressing a position regarding a controversy, this piece does NOT represent our positions.  Its merely intended to be a satirical representation of many discussions going on in our society today.

Once again, it is not meant to be about Kristina or my position on controversial issues.

Lastly, regarding the direction that went into it:  I am a person that really enjoys disjointed space and/or time in movies and books.  Examples like Timeline, Pulp Fiction, The Matrix, Inception, might be familiar references.   Herein, I have implemented some of that kind of integration of multiple plot elements.  Not so sophisticated, but just know that there are multiple threads that are woven together, and yet when they are presented, still relate directly to the clip they are preceding or following.

Enjoy.

Project 2

My Project two, finally done, thank you Rob for your support.

Hope you all enjoy it as much as I did making it.  It's more about the story I'm trying to tell, than it is about the quality of my clips.  I hope you can appreciate what I am saying.  White Balance, Lighting, etc...those were not the first concerns...the story line was.  :)

Project Three: I Had a Dream

Hey everyone! I have really had a good time with all of you creative people this semester. Thanks so much Professor Morris for the fantastic class. It was so much more than I expected or could have hoped for! I think the way to stay fresh with your creativity is to constantly challenge yourself, and not be afraid of being challenged. An open mind is also key; a closed mind is a bar which prohibits any new learning from ever occurring. I must admit, mine was a not completely open back in September. Thanks again prof. for making it interesting!
In this work, my idea was to compile clips from various sources to tell a story. My story was about a man who had a dream. He stayed up too late, and filled his mind with too much digital stimulation. His over-active imagination is then ready to take him into sci-fi city! I had to really cut a lot on the one movie I used to keep the montage fresh and lively. I did some shooting at home and as usual, my lovely wife assisted me. I used some of the techniques we learned this semester to assemble this montage, and I think it tells a compelling story.
